Wednesday 25th January 2012. 1.8 is pretty much regarded as a pointless engine in Focus circles - barely any performance advantage over the 1.6 and significantly more fuel consumption. My 1.6 Dee_82. the 1.6 is fine if its looked after, the blown turbos are largely down to poor oil changes, EGR, leaking injectors. an a few other things, but generally speaking its a nice wee engine, very efficient and low tax given the choice and enough money to pay for it, id go for the 2, but im happy with the 1.6.

Decent interior, comfy seats, Zetec model is mid range. Good looking car in my opinion, shame mine is a bit rough, I would do something about it but at the age and mileage it just isn't worth spending lots on cosmetic repairs. Good to drive, 1.8 petrol is fast enough and does 35 - 39 mpg. Insurance is OK, but tax is rather expensive.
